Arak is Lebanon’s national drink and the father of the great aniseed-based eaux-de-vie of the Mediterranean basin. Arak de Kefraya begins life as wine made with Lebanese Cinsault red, which is then distilled four times to achieve maximum purity and smoothness of taste. After the first distillation, using the Armagnac method, the alcohol is distilled a second time to remove the harmful methanol.
